Note:
For the XXIVth IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry, Short Graphical Abstracts will be published in book form and Full Abstracts available in electronic format.
Only abstracts (Short Graphic Abstract text + Full Abstract file) submitted in English via the online submission system will be accepted for evaluation.

ABSTRACT TITLE
The submission form will limit the title of the abstract to 150 characters including spaces.
SHORT GRAPHIC ABSTRACT
Please insert the short abstract in the field available on the platform. The maximum number of characters available for this text is 400, including spaces.
We recommend that you create the Short Graphic Abstract text externally in Word or similar software.
Before copying the created text into the submission system, please check that the number of characters used does not exceed the maximum 400 (spaces included) allowed.

The short graphic abstract text will be printed in the Abstract Book together with image/table if such is uploaded in the system. This should follow the specific instructions concerning the size and quality.
IMAGE/TABLE
Structural formulae, equations, schemes and figures should be uploaded as a single image. In order to be accepted by the system the image should be of jpeg type with a resolution of 300dp. The maximum size of image accepted is 5 MB. The image/table should be up loaded to the system when submitting the abstract.
FULL ABSTRACT TEXT
The Full Abstract is the text that the scientific committee will evaluate and approve or reject.
The full abstract file should be uploaded in Word or pdf format in the appropriate field in the abstract submission system. The length of the Full Abstract is limited to a maximum of 2500 characters including spaces (corresponding to one A4 page).
The FONT used for the text should be Times New Roman, 11 points.
Any REFERENCES should be listed sequentially at the end of the Full Abstract Text using numbers in square brackets. The author’s names are followed by (in italics) the name of the journal, the year, volume and the initial page number.

Please note that in order to be evaluated the author needs to insert both the Short Graphic Abstract text and upload the Full Abstract file into the system.

ABSTRACT BOOK
The XXIVth IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry Abstract Book will consist of the accepted Short Graphic Abstract and the images/tables inserted in the system.
GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- After creating your abstract submission account, the abstract submitter (author) will be able to enter the submission system to create a draft, edit the text and submit the final version of the abstract.
- Please note that the e-mail address you indicate when creating your abstract submission account is the e-mail to which all automatic replies/notifications are sent to.
- Authors are expected to submit their abstract under the most appropriate topic.
- Authors are requested to indicate their preference of presentation type (oral presentation or poster). Please note that the scientific committee will make the final decision on the presentation type of accepted abstracts. Please note that accepted abstracts that do not qualify for oral communication will automatically be selected for poster presentation.
- Oral Communication – 20 min (15 min presentation + 5 min discussion) / each or Poster (only presentation)
- Each participant is limited to present one poster OR one oral communication.
- Please note that once the author has submitted the final version of the abstract to the system, it is not possible to undertake any further alterations to the text submitted.
- Authors who successfully submit an abstract will receive an automatic e-mail reply confirming the successful abstract submission. This confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the author’s contact details.
- Should you not receive a confirmation within 48 hours, please contact the Abstract submission helpdesk.
- Poster must be printed in A0 format (841mm x 1189mm - width and height)

The presenting authors must be registered in the Symposium. Abstracts of authors (presenters) who are not registered by 15 June 2012 will automatically be removed from the abstract book and programme.
