1. Atlantic coast and the beach of Figueira da Foz
Figueira da Foz is home to a gigantic sandy beach that is the country's largest, stretching for more than 3km (2 miles). It is so wide, that it is a good five-minute walk across the sand to the sea.
Its popularity with surfers (it was a venue for the 1996 World Surfing Championships) is what turned the town into a world-class resort in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

2. Guided forest walk in the unique Buçaco National Park
Bussaco forest is like an enchanted woods, as we can find the amazing centuries trees from all over the world, in this 105 ha walled national park, with romantic lakes and breathtaking sightseeing views.
This unique forest was first settled by Benedictine monks in the 6th Century. Later, it was administered by priests from Coimbra Cathedral, and a Papal edict of 1622 declared that women entering the forest would be excommunicated.

3. Kayak trip down the slow Mondego river
If you have a certain spirit of adventure, consider a kayak trip down the River Mondego calm waters. At the place of departure we will receive instructions in kayaking techniques, information about the river and given everything we need for the trip.

4. Aliança Portugal Wines and guided visit to Aliança Underground Museum
The Aliança Underground Museum is an exhibition space, displayed along the traditional wine cellars of Aliança Vinhos de Portugal.
Contemplating seven private collections, the public has access to diverse dimensions, such as archeology, ethnography, mineralogy, paleontology, and ceramic tiles, covering millions of years.
Being part of the great universe of Berardo Collection, these collections are the result of the constant effort of José Berardo in collecting and caring for objects of scientific, artistic, or historical or sentimental importance.

Walking tour of Coimbra including a visit to the University Library
The University of Coimbra is one of the oldest in Europe. Founded in Lisbon by King Dinis in 1290, it was finally transferred to Coimbra in 1537, occupying the buildings of the medieval royal Palace.
In the University of Coimbra we will visit the Joanine Library and the Botanical Garden.
The walking tour will continue with visits to the Old Cathedral (Sé Velha), the New Cathedral (Sé Nova) as well as the Machado de Castro National Museum.
The Machado de Castro Museum, housed in the former Bishop’s Palace built on top of the cryptoporticus – the foundation of the forum of the Roman city of Aeminium (Coimbra). Dating from the 1st century AD, this is most important surviving Roman building in Portugal.

Mini cruise on board a typical “moliceiro” boat along the Ria Waters
The capital of the Ria, a vast lagoon where the freshwater of the River Vouga joins with the sea, Aveiro is intersected by canals, genuine streets of water, along which can be seen gliding the brightly coloured boats known as barcos moliceiros. Originally founded in the time of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, Aveiro is now one of the most interesting cities on the Portuguese coast.
